Today: working with the JULFORM poster, almost done.

Friday, 26 November 2010

The tape is done. My man asked me why I´m always working with the knife against my throat. I said that it´s just now that it is like that. He said no, it has always been like that and it will never change. I guess it´s true, my ideas often land in a very late state of the process, even though I try to work at once when I get a task, everything that comes out is crap and at the end it wraps up and I get the flow.
How is it when you work, do you plan and work and have time to spend at the end, or is it like me, always done 5 minutes before deadline?
Enjoy your weekend!

I am working on a pattern for a tape that will be used at Julform (go over to the julform sight and check out all the nice things that will be sold at the 10-12 of december, look under deltagare). It´s a dream project ( I love tape!) but shit, it´s short of time!

Pippi Longstocking

Since our visit to Stockholm she likes Pippi Longstocking again. She even painted her face to get freckles. Considering how she looks at these photos I´m not so sure that she thinks Pippis is a sweet little girl...
One and a half year ago she looked like this in her constume.

Time flies when your having fun!

Today I had a meeting with one of the two artists that recommended me to sketch for a public comissioned art piece at a pre-school here in Gothenburg (It´s supposed to be done in august next year). Today was like a pre-presentation before the final presentation at the third of december. The meeting was interesting and fun, I realised that I had missed the situations when I can talk with other artists about my projects. It is such a great moment when someone really looks at your stuff and tells you what they actually thinks about it!  (I talk alot with my friends but it´s different to talk with someone that you don´t know.) I also realised that there sure is alot to get done before the final presentation and even more to think about. It´s a bit scary. I do hope I manage to pull this off so that I will get the comission!

Textilspaniel tagged me to do 4.

Here we go:

4 television program:
(1) True Blood, (2) Mad Med, both TV shows that J and I watch togather. TV is nice togather. I still like (3) Greys Anatomy. (4) is almost whatever, I mostly draw infront of the TV and use it more as a company then actually watch it.

4 things I did today:
(1) Spent 6 hours in the car driving from Stockholm to Gothenburg, mostly listening to the book "how to train your dragon" read by Robert Gustavsson. It was good. And so was the film, we saw it on saturday evening. (2) Teached my illustration class, I showed them how I use markers. (3) Ate way to much candy (4) Came home, no place like home, so nice to be back!

4 things that I long for: (1) My family in Värmland, especially my grandparents. (2) Our apartment to be done  (3) Christmas, mostly cause I have so much that needs to get done before and I wish everything was done already! (4) Just time to hang out with the man and the kids.

4 things on my wish list: (1) A trip with the family somewhere warm (2) A house that needs no renovation and is on the countryside but still in the city (3) Fun new projects and comission work  (4) That we stop treating the earth the way we do and that people would stop producing so much shitty things and start make the world to a better place to live instead.

4 things I hate: (1) That I worry so much (2) That I have to work so odd hours all the time (3) That I´m missing out on important things (4) That I can´t take control over everything that I wish I could and at the same time I wish I could let go of some control.

4 people tagged:
Alexandra, Lotte, Kimberley and Evie.

The weekend

I hope you had a great weekend, we sure did!

Friday done

The image made it to Astacus scanningcenter and they managed to get it scanned and sent it back to me today, that is what I call great service!
We are in Stockholm this weekend. On our way here today we managed to get a flat tire so the trip took many more hours then expected. But now, finally, settled!

Finally done. I decided to keep the blue swan after all. It took me more than one day extra to get it ready, just because I couldn´t make the decisions that was needed fast enough. Lately I have been drawing to little and I feel kind of insecure of my ability. December will be a dawing month for me, thats for sure. Novemeber is already to filled with other things that it´s impossible to get the time. But I will sketch for my public comission work next week and I´m so loking forward to that!
When I should pack the drawing it didn´t fit the package that I had bought. I had to almost squeeze it into it. Ran to the postoffice just before it closed and they promised that it will leave gothenburg today. With my bad luck it will be totally unscannable when it reaches the scanning center tomorrow. If it reaches the scanning center that is.

We have winter!

Over at Elisabeths studio earlier today, drinking the first glögg.
And now more work on my swans.

Tuesday, 9 November 2010

Drawing both days and nights!

I´m working like crazy to get this drawing done until tomorrow, it will be sold as a tray and as print at Julforms christmasmarket. It´s quite big, A2, and I have some major problems going on: composition, matching colors and so on. I have already cut twice (se image one compared to the second one) and I have a feeling that big blue swan needs to be cut out. (click to see it bigger!)

Turning 5

Last week in images. Turning 5 takes a week of celebration and one of preparations.

Nothing els on my mind these days.

Monday, 1 November 2010

This weekend is over. Tomorrow the kids turn five, can´t belive it. Five years ago around this time I was in pain and in about 1,5 hour later they where born. And now they are turning five.
When I wrote this post last night I suddenly heard something from little V´s room. She ran to the toilet and then a marathon of throwing-up started. Poor little thing, what a dreadful way to celebrate her  birthday. Little J and I went to IKEA to get away from the sick people for a while (their father got the same thing last night) and to get the last stuff for the bathroom, and there, it struch him aswell. But I´m fine. Hmm, this was not exactly what I planned for their birthday!
