Kitchen

We are tearing down the old kitchen and starting from scratch! The building was built in the late fifties but the previous owner renovated the kitchen in the seventies and replaced every nice, robust part of it with fake materials. The only thing I really loved with this kitchen now was the flooring, sadly it can´t stay cause they didn´t put it under the stove or the fridge!
Now when we starting to come down to the old structure the colors and  the old wallpapers that we are finding underneath is fantastic! I can just imagine how the place looked when it was new:)
With our old apartment we had much more luck with the kitchen, it was kind of intact. We just did the surfaces.
Well, this journey to come will be heavy, in a month everything needs to be done!
First thing to decide is if I should go with blood red floor, I feel like it but still red is a VERY strong color...

Fixing!

Today we started to work on our new apartment. It´s exiting for the whole family.

Sleeping beauty

Every friday we( my family) eat some snacks and watch a movie, we kall it "fredagsmys" in swedish. Today we are watching "sleeping beauty" and every time I see that movie I get amazed with the details, the colours and the light in the drawings. Wow, It´s absolutley beautiful. I love how they work with forground background and "in between". I can smell the fifties in it (it´s from 1959) especially in the language of the drawings.
Very inspiring! I feel like drawing right now!

Our new apartment, next friday we are starting to renovate it! I still havn´t made up my mind about the wallpaper in the livingroom (middle image), I kind of like it. Even though it´s very dark.

I´m having problems with this composition. It was a  long time since I worked with colors and I can´t seem to get it the way I want:(

When I work and make a mistake, like photo nr 1, I correct it by either replacing the part thats not working, or fill it with black. This time I cut and started all over on that piece. I try to work with the composition and the whole piece, making it come togather with the shapes and the colors. Still long way to go here...
At the end my work looks like a patchwork made out of replaced pieces!

Elvis

Working on my comission job, Elvis. This will probably end up was wallpaper, still alot of work that needs to be done though. Drawing for almost two whole days now, oh, how I enjoy it. Every part of me is happy:)

New comission

Started scetching on a new comission job today. Do you see who it´s supposed to be? I can tell you that this job will be totally crazy when it´s done, you will be surprised!
