Weekword

This weeks weekword was "wonderland" and Lea picked it. Go over to her place to see the other participants for the week! I did what some people did last week, I cheated a bit. I didn´t really have time to draw something so I´m showing you our poster (myrkott). I didn´t draw all of it, we are four that draws for Myrkott. The theme that we had for this poster was "the land at the end of the rainbow", aka: wonderland.
(Klick for bigger)
Have a great weekend!

Great Kristin!

What would I do without Kristin, and what would this project do without her? The other day she helped me hang my stuff at the museum, I´m so grateful and soooo afraid of heights...

How I work, part 3

Alexandra asked me how I work with my illustrations when I combine both drawing by hand and the computer. Here is the answer:
I had an idea so I began drawing in illustrator, sadly I don´t have a vacom board so I used the mouse (but on friday I will get a board cause my father is giving me one as a graduation gift:)

Then the squirrel needed a tail. This was a drawing that I made for myrkott and that I had scanned on my computer. Usually I draw small drawings, scan them and take away the background in photoshop, then I put them in a kind of library on the computer. The Library I use for different kind of work. Sometimes, when needed, I draw new things and add to the library.
I placed the "tail" drawing in illustrator and then rotated it, scaled and copied it until it looked as a tail.

Finally the tree needed some leaves. I had this old rose drawing, from last summer, I vectorized it in illustrater by using the "live trace" tool and then "cleaned it up" a bit. then I used it as I used the previous drawing, scaled, copied...

Alexandra is this weeks weekword finder, and her word was "home". My very first thought was a squirrel sitting with his beechnut. Something like: "wherever I lay my hat, thats my home".
Other participants are: Aimee, Jenna, Fruenswerk, Andrea, Nathalie, Esti, Kristi, Sandra, Aris, Thereza and Lea.

Pink snow

It looks as if pink snow came down outside, no more cherrytree bloom this year. It´s sad that it´s such short period.
Today I received the last part of my Moo order, a sticker book. I will tag Gothenburgh!

Monday buisness!

I have been putting together a presentation of my work for a minimarket at Röhsska, starting tomorrow. Also doing some serious cutting, finishing my rug. And seeing my own knees (on the poster) everywhere!
Now I´m trying to realax (with this) a little cause tomorrow I´m going to an interview. Tell you more later!

Weekword

Aimee came up with this weeks weekword, "fake". I had a hard time drawing the word, cause everything that I draw is like a fake version of the real thing. Like my butterflies.
Other participants this week:
alexandra, aris, doug, esti, fruenswerk, jenna, thereza, and valentina.

Welcome Leo!

My mother is in town because of little Leos entrance to this world. Today we went to see the little miracle. It´s amazing how small newborns are, I can´t remember that my kids ever where that small!
