Weekword: nostalgia

Christine picked this weeks weekword "nostalgia", which I´m late to deliver. Go to silverlinings 4 me to see who els is playing. Nostalgia became so much stronger for me when I had my kids.
The doll on the top image is a bathing doll that my grandmother had when she was a child, I played with it when I was a kid and now she gave it to V. The blanket on the last photo was a west that my grandmother crochet for me when I was a teenager. When I was pregnant I asked her to make a blanket of it and now it´s on v´s bed.

I love the smurf(which I had, too) and I think I had that dog made of links. Love the pics. :-)

wonderful to have generational stuff to give a sense of family continuity.

I love seeing my children play with the things I loved as a child. It makes the past present and takes the present to the past in a way nothing else has for me.

I love the little dolly. I used to play with my dad's old toys at my grandma's house. It was always fun to try and think about what my dad may have pretended while using them too. My dad has my grandpa's old lunch box, toy guns, and cars from the 1930s.

The tiny red drawers are very cute.

Your post about your childhood toys reminded me that we played with Tinkertoys & Lincoln Logs... Miss T, I appreciated your comment about video games - I really wish my nieces, nephews & granddaughter would play engage in "interactive toys" instead of using just their fingers to play.
Thanks for participating!

I miss the smurfs
A crocheted blanket is something I think everyone should have. It is such a special gift. Knowing that someone who loves you took the time to make it is heartwarming.
My grandmother had a small Gotland Horse collection from Sweden where my grandfather was from. It made me think of her. Thanks :)

Fantastic memories and reds! We have my husband's green Rubix snake and a blue one for our children (they don't make them like they used to!

Hello Veja Cecilia!
The reason I writte to you is because we share one beautiful thing: our name!!! Although you are from Sweden and I am from Spain! your name drove me to you, but I must confess your blog made the rest: it is very lovely what you do. I also like very much drawing, and writing. I wait for you at my place, whenever you want...

Bis kisses, Cecilia!
