Days of work

Karin and I have been quite good with our studio time this week, working and thrifting. I worked on this comission  that has been postphoned and Karin was so sweet and investigated things that had to do with my upcoming comission work.

Today I tryed to work in a bigger scale and as I suspected: it´s very hard. For me almost impossible.

Bathroom

Our bathroom, forst image from this morning, second 6 hours later. Feeling both sad (cause I liked the way it looked) and happy (cause nothing worked) at the same time. And very happy that there is a handy-man doing the work!

Starting fixing the corridor

When we bought this apartment I wasn´t sure what to do with the wallpaper in the corridor. Since we liked it we diecided to make it a starting point for the rest of the renovation, making the floor red so it would go with it. Now, about 6 months later, I´m so fed up with it. With the red floor it makes the corridor really dark, so today me and little mr J started to take it down. There are layers of old wallpaper underneath it, I just love how such things tells a story!

I have missed you!

I forgot my camera cable at my mothers in Värmland last weekend.  Since I didn´t have it I couldn´t blog any photos and the drawings I´ve been working on latley are kind of a secret. So this silent week was unintentional!
This was a hectic week! There are some great things going on right now: yesterday I sold some art, in december I will presentatet sketches for a public comission work , hopefully I´m selling some pattern any day now and I am arranging a christmas market togather with great some great co-workers.
We are buing a (used but for us new) car next week.
And also starting the renovation of our bathroom, kind of chaos to come.
In the middle of everything I will also try and manage to get some stuff done for this competition.

Still working

Last week I went and showed my portfolio and the surface patterns I´ve been working on lately. It was interesting things I got to know about my own work, it´s very different opinions between different producers. I guess it has to do with the design buyer at the end of the producers line, you out there, you customers. Sometimes it bothers me that there are so little risk taken among the producers and therefor I hope that my trip lead to some selling and some risks! Tell you more about that when I know...

In the studio I listen to this when I draw. Sometimes it makes me smile, sometimes sing, and sometimes cry. Fantastic!

Prints!

I´ve got a few copies of each of these prints for sale (top one called birds, bottom one called butterflies). They will be numbered and signed. One can be yours for 80 USD and if you would like both it would be 150 USD. The size of the print (the paper) is 50*70 cm and the image itself is 40*50 cm, suited for IKEAs 50*70 cm frames inkluding passepartout (which is 39*49 cm).

Crispy

Autumn is here. It´s rainy but still fresh crispy. I like it, mostly bacause it´s OK to stay inside and to wear warmer cloths.What time of the year is your favourite?

My baby has become a little girl! A little girl that is very interested in certain things,  like hello kitty and pink stuff and lipgloss. She has her own taste and if she could decide she wears nothing put skirt or dresses. We have real conversations and often I admire her way of addressing things and how she seems to have good answers for everything.

New print!

In my hands I´ve got 8 signed and numbered prints of Fågelbo (birdnest), size 50*70 cm, go to my shop and get yourself one right away!

Doing and done

Working with surface patterns for my portfoliomeetings next week. Can´t belive how time flies. Summer is more or less over and autumn is coming... my favourite part of the year. In my head I´m already in december, time is so limited and every day is almost planned already. Inbetween everything we are renovating our bathroom and even though I try I can´t get my mind to think about interior decoration now.

A new challange!

When I printed this old pattern for the exhibition I realized that it was a long time since I draw something as complexed as this. Lately I´ve been doing mostly illustrations and artwork. I´m so happy that I got an opportunity to sketch for a public decoration that will be presentated in december.  I´m looking forward to dive into the work as soon as possible, and I will twist my mind and challenge myself!

Hanging

My sister helped me to hang my exhibition today! The light made it impossible to photograph so sadly this is the best I got to give you. I´m soooo tired now, after working hard many days and then finally hanging today. Now I will rest tonight and tomorrow I´m starting to prepare for 2 portfolio meeting next week.
